Aged-out foster youth face significant challenges when they transition out of the foster care system, including high rates of homelessness, unemployment, and mental health issues. According to the National Foster Youth Institute, 20% of aged-out foster youth become instantly homeless, and only 50% will be employed by the age of 24. The need for targeted support and resources is urgent to help these young adults achieve stability and independence.
The MAKADI Foster Support Program aims to provide support and resources to aged-out foster youth, helping them transition smoothly into independent adulthood. By addressing challenges such as housing instability, unemployment, lack of education, and mental health issues, our program ensures that these young adults have the tools they need to build stable and fulfilling lives. Through partnerships with local businesses and organizations, we offer life skills workshops, educational support, housing assistance, employment services, and mental health support. Our goal is to break the cycle of adversity and empower these individuals to achieve long-term success.
